Noobie Foodie│Bondi Pizza

Hi Friends,
So recently someone asked me to recommend a good pizza place for them and Bondi Pizza was actually the first place that came to mind because I really enjoyed the toppings on their pizza! But the friend wanted a place in City so I didn't recommend Bondi Pizza but Fratelli Fresh instead! So here is my noobie review of  Bondi Pizza!
YUMMM

So on to the food...
Garlic Bread
Of course at any pizza place is really important to try their Garlic Bread ($4.95) and it was sadly slightly burnt which disappointed me a little bit but none the less it was yummy and nothing beats warm garlic bread on a cold winter's night!
Peri Peri Chicken Pizza
We ordered two different types of pizza and the first one was the Peri Peri Chicken ($25.95) and it was delicious! I love the peri peri sauce with the thin crust pizza base! Very flavoursome pizza and their was a lot of topping!
Chilli Prawn and Chorizo!
The second pizza we ordered was the Chilli Prawn and Chorizo ($25.95) which was just as delicious with a nice combination of pizza and chorizos with a hint of chilli and saltiness. Again on very thin and crusty base! YUM!
Meatballs!!
Of course that wasn't enough food so we ordered some Meatball Linguini ($22.95) which had wagu meatballs and parmesan to dress. In all honesty the pasta wasn't as satisfying and tasty as the pizza so I definitely recommend trying the pizza over the pasta!
Ravioli!
One of my close friends was vegetarian so she ordered Spinach, Ricotta and Pinenut Ravioli ($22.95) which I tried and it was had more flavour than the linguini but again not as good as the pizzas!

Noobie Foodie │ Meat and Wine Co.

Meat and Wine Co in Darling Harbour has been on my bucket list for THE LONGEST TIME because I walk past in all the time but I was definitely way too poor to try this place! But I’m really lucky I have wonderful ‘parents’ and they sponsored me this meal! THANKYOU GUYS! MWAMWA. Anyways I was really excited to try the food here and it was every bit as fancy as I expected!

So on to the food:

For those who don’t me – I like alcohol. A LOT!! So I couldn’t go pass the Cocktail menu and ended up ordering a Love Potion (is this cocktail meant to help my nonexistent love life?? – well it hasn’t worked). Regardless of the effectiveness of the potion it was a very sweet and easy to drink cocktail that contained muddled strawberries, belvedere vodka, Suntory rubis and cointreau then shaken with pineapple juice and finished with Mozart choc liqueur.  Very girly and yummy!

This was my mummy’s drink – The Perfect Match! Sailor Jerry spiced rum, pepperjack shiraz and a dash of chocolate bitters mixed with cranberry juice and slightly sweetened. It was called the perfect match because it complements the steaks! This cocktail has a bit more punch and wasn’t as sweet. The primary flavour was the shiraz and because I don’t really like red wine it wasn’t my favourite!

Then on the entrée which was Portuguese Prawn – char grilled prawns, eschalots and a creamy Portuguese sauce served with a cabbage, brown rice and capsicum pilaf. It was my first time trying a Portuguese dish!! The sauce was very creamy and flavoursome which was a definitely plus to the delicious prawns! Pilaf (rice cooked in seasoned broth) reminded me a bit of risotto and was definitely heavier than what I’m used to in a rice dish – it was so full of flavour!! I really enjoyed the entrée!

Of course if you’re going to be at a restaurant called Meat and Wine co you’ll be eating – STEAK! YAY I love steak! (It’s so ironic because my last post was at a Vegan restaurant HAHA)! Both my mummy and I ordered the Monte Black Wagyu Rib Eye 300g cooked medium rare ($59…OFFT) and daddy ordered the wagyu rump which was 500g. I’m a huge fan of steaks and this was an AMAZING STEAK! The meat was so tender and juicy! AHHHHHH so good! I pretty much ate the steak without sauce because it was already so delicious without any flavouring! It was definitely good quality meat, so easy to cut and eat!!
The chips were thick cut and fried to perfection! As to not waste the sauce I used most of it on the chips! Even though I was really full the food was so good I actually finished the entire meal!

Did I mention we also got an extra side of mash potatoes? It was A LOT OF FOOD!

Café Explorer│ Coffee Traders at Ryde

This particular place I’ve been wanting to try for a long time because it’s right next to my bus stop so I pass it literally EVERYDAY! And finally I had the chance to try the food and coffee there!! (About time) Here’s my little blog post about this local café.
Exactly where we were sitting!

Definitely a lively café that is spacious very stylishly designed with really interesting design touches like the chalk board and the vespa! Not every day you see a packed motorbike in a café!
COFFEE ADDICTION MET! :)
As per usual we ordered two large Mochas and the coffee there was definitely something else! Sweet but not too sweet where I can taste the chocolate syrup and it was definitely effective to waken my senses. Coffee cravings as I write this..
And here comes the food!

Karen ordered the egg chicken chorizo and bacon on sour dough bread! And it was amazing! It was actually my first time trying chicken chorizos and it was so full of flavour! Because it was my first time eating it I’m not sure how to describe the flavour but it was something similar to Chinese preserved sausages with its oily but mouth watering taste. The bacon was fried to a crisp it literally broke apart as you tried to cut into it! That’s one of the best textures of bacon I’ve ever tasted!!! One day I shall learn to cook bacon like that! The sour dough was fresh and generously buttered it left this amazing crunch on the crust but soft and tender in the centre!
DEM EGGS!
My dish was the scrambled egg with ham and chicken with rocket and sour dough bread. I choose it because scrambled eggs are one of my favourite foods! It definitely met my egg cravings as the egg was really fluffy and delicious without too much cream or milk unlike year 7 camp style scrambled eggs (that was traumatising for me because I hated that milky eggy taste). The rest of my dish was nothing incredibly special but again the sour dough bread was so satisfying and filling. In comparison my food wasn’t as flavoursome (the chicken chorizos really packed a punch) but I prefer the milder flavours and softer textures.
Both food portions are huge! This is why I never lose weight isn’t? Anyway click read more for the review and more food porn:

Re: Sculpture by the Sea 2013 :) Plus Food review at Moo Burger

Event Review:
Sculpture by the Sea is a annual art event that happens around October - November every year. Sculptures and instillations are placed from Bondi beach all through to the next beach! Best thing about this event is that it’s absolutely FREE
This is an event I attend every year ever since 2008 or 2009, I really enjoy looking at sculptures while strolling near the beach also taking in the scenery of the beach. Definitely an event I would recommend going to! This year I managed to be able to go with a close bro of mine who took photos for me! Here are some of the ones I really loved! THANKS SHEN! :D
BEACH IS BABe-ing <3

Carrying the weight of these rocks with these awesome people!

Shen’s awesome photo of another favourite for this year!

My favourite photo with my favourite sculpture but it’s on a camera for which I don’t have a cord :(

For anyone interesting in attending or for more information: click here!

MUST BRING TO SCULPTURES LIST:
1. Water - it’s a lot of walking so staying hydrated is so important!
2. Camera - for obvious reasons
3. Sunglasses - to protect your eyes from the glare of Australian sun
4. Sunscreen - the lovely organisers of this event provided FREE sunscreen in stands for everyone this year! But remember to put sunscreen on 20 minutes before actual sun exposure!
5. Friends & family - this is an event great for family members to gather and walk around! Great bonding time but don't come with too many people because the walk way is pretty narrow so a huge group will take an entire path and block it for everyone else  :P

Noobie Foodie│The Pie Tin

YUMMY PIE <3

This is my first Restaurant Review on my new blog (I've ALWAYS wanted to do something like this)!! So a few days ago my friend suggest spontaneously to visit a little place in Newtown called The Pie Tin which I haven't been to in a very long time so I was very excited to go and try some more of their delicious pies. After all pies are one of the VERY few food items that are known as 'Australian'!

The Pie Tin ratings:
Location: ★★★☆☆
It's not extremely easy to get to because it's not close to the station but it is possible to get to Newtown via Bus on King St but just a quick note - traffic on King St can be veryyyy slow so its's actually good to just walk from the station.
Menu: ★★★☆☆
The Pie Tin has an amazing range of flavours on their menu but the availabilities of the items are subjected to change so it keeps things interesting! But the down side is if you came to find a specific pie (unless it's the classic Mince Pie) there are chances it might not be there!
Price: ★★★★☆
Definitely very affordable pies ranging from $5.8 - $7.8 and it's possible to get a meal with your pie by adding 2 sides and it'll cost around $11- $13 which for a meal in Australia is pretty reasonable!
Overall: ★★★★☆
The ambience is young and cheerful, the food is delicious and affordable! Service is friendly and very very very quick which is great for all those people who are so time poor! Definitely recommend this place for some delicious Pies especially if it's easy for you to get there!
