Noobie Foodie│Bavarian Bier Cafe

Hi FRIENDS! I like beer and I cannot lie! A while ago my friends and I celebrated my dear Lori's birthday at Bavarian Bier Cafe on York street and it was such a fun experience! Especially since it was Earth Hour while we were eating our food so we had a candle light dinner that was super romantic (without actually intending it)!

FOOD!
Sorry about the lighting of the photos for this post! It was really dark and my camera doesn't have a flash!
So on to the food! Bavarian was really nice to let us order whatever we wanted even though we had a really big group going & normally it'd be only the set menu option, so that was really GOOD!
Pretzel with butter!
THE PRETZEL! My favourite starter! It's seriously perfect! Soft and warm with a hint of salt. YUMM!
Tasting platter!

Double the tasting platter!

YUMMMMMMMMMMMMM
This was the Bavarian Tasting platter which had the  Crispy Pork Belly, Haus Sausages, Schnitzel Sauerkraut, Red Cabbage, Creamy Mash, Granny Smith Apple Compote and Löwenbräu Bier Jus ($29). THE PORK BELLY WAS DELICIOUS!! And the gravy was wonderful as well! Definitely a dish I would recommend if you want to try a combination of different things! :D
Pork Knuckle

Double pork knuckle
PORK KNUCKLE! Definitely a must!! And it was Saturday night so there was a special for half a roasted pork knuckle for $22! The pork knuckle was with lentil, apple and radish! Yummmm! Soooo good! Very tender and the lentil was so flavoursome! SO delicious and it wasn't as salty like the one from Lowenbrau! MUST TRY!
BEER!!!
THIS is another must - BEER! This was one of the fruit flavour beers and they're all so delicious! Lychee is my favourite!

Location: ★★★★★
Bavarian Bier cafe on York Street is sooo easy to find! Very short walk from Townhall station and the location is so convenient for most people!
Menu: ★★★★☆
The menu is not the most extensive of all menus but all the classics are there! And they do different specials daily (which I love) and there's also a HAPPY HOUR! Love happy hour~ $3 SLIDERS! I cannot wait to go back during happy hour!
Taste: ★★★★☆
It was definitely a different experience having a meal during Earth Hour because all of the flavours for the food is so much more vibrant and you can really taste everything! Which makes me slightly more biased! The pork knuckle was really delicious and I love the pork belly!
Price: ★★★☆☆
Bavarian is definitely not the cheapest restaurant especially if you were to get a set menu! But because we shared to dishes among the both of us it wasn't too excessively expensive.  And the tasting platter was a great way to sample all the different dishes available!
Overall: ★★★★☆
It was definitely a new experience eating during Earth Hour in the dark with just candle light and the staff members were very accommodating to such a large group of people! The fact that we were allowed to order what we wanted was really good and very considerate! And I love the deco of the place! <3 nbsp="" p="">
Them beer jugs!
